So I went a little nuts and Ulta, Sephora and MAC. I thought it would be a good idea to do a blog post reviewing these products and swatching them!
As soon as I saw Benefit was releasing a new box powder, I immediately put a note on my calendar in my phone so I wouldn't forget!! The new powder is called Rockateur. As you can see this is the first box powder that has an imprint on the powder itself.
Now lets look at the packaging: Of course typical box powder it comes with a brush which I took out. The little black studs on top right and bottom left corner are added on, they are not apart of the screen print.
Now if you watched my haul than you know the story behind this little guy. I ordered this off Amazon from a seller CutiesCosmetics. I purchased this for $15. That should have been my clue, because it is fake. Now i don't hate this product but I am discouraged because it never said on Amazon it was a knockoff.
As you can see from the pictures it looks real but it's not. Now I have never personally seen Georgia, but the color is peach. I have been using this to set my under-eye concealer and it works well because it does have the peach under-tone. You could use this to set your entire makeup but it doesn't quite match my skin tone. It feels smooth when you swatch it but it goes on a little chalk-y.
This is a product I have had my eye on since November 2011! It is the MAC eyeshadow in Trax (velvet). I went to the MAC counter and asked about this eyeshadow and they said they would put it on my so I could decide if I liked it on. The guy ended up doing a whole eye look but this is the only thing I purchased. It retails for $15.
This color can be used many different ways. You can easily apply a light amount or build it up to create a smokey look. As you can see it's a medium purple with gold glitter.
Here you can see the gold glitter well.
This is a Maybelline Luminous Lights Quad in Opal. I have also had my eye on this for a while too. This is $5.99 at Ulta.
These colors are all shimmery and have small chunks of silver glitter in them. Imprinted on the shadows are Base, Lid, Crease, and Liner.
Close up you can see the glitter. From left to right the colors are: liner, crease, lid and base. My favorite is the liner color. I have used this as the quad says on the back and it looks great, perfect 6th grade look in my opinion.
I have tried many different eyeshadow primers such as Urban Decay, Smashbox, Lorac and MAC paint pots. Now comes the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. This is $24 and can be purchased at Sephora.
It has a doe-foot applicator and a small amount of products comes out. I defiantly get more on it for each eye.
It is white when it goes on, but when you rub it in, it becomes clear.
Next we have the Ulta Extreme wear whipped Eye Shadow in Strawberry cream. This is $8 but I got mine in the clearance for $2.99 I cannot find this on the Ulta website, it may have been discontinued.
It's very liquid-y. I haven't worn this all day so I'm not sure about staying power.
This is extremely potent so you only need a little bit for your eyelid. On the left is a full on swatch and the right is blended out.
Missglamorazzi raves about this next product. The Maybelline dream Lumi touch highlighting conealear. I have the shade radiant. You can buy this at utla for $7.99 I have been using this under my eyes and I am completely in love with this product. There are 6 colors.
Who doesn't want extra brightness in the eye area?! The Rimmel Sandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eyeliner in nude is perfect. This is $4.49 at ulta. You can pick from 10 colors.
For all of you tinted lip balm lovers this one is for you! The covergirl Lip smoochies is my newest lip balm. I don't think this is the best for moisture but it sure does work well to add color! I have the color #luv u. I got this for $5.99 at ulta. There are 12 colors available.
On the left is the color built up and the right is one strip of color.
A lot of brands have been coming out with "jumbo lip pencils". I picked up the Covergirl jumbo gloss balm in 215 Watermelon twist. They are $8.99 and 16 colors available.
I am going to do a video all about BB creams so I won't talk about these much.
The Rimmel bb cream is $6.99 and has 3 colors.
L'Oreal is $10.99 and has 4 colors.
The Urban Decay BB cream is $34 but I got the travel size for $14. There is only 1 shade.
Wow this was a long post!! I hope you enjoyed and watch out for the bb cream video and post coming in the next month!!
